What is a Registered Dietitian?
A Registered Dietitian RD or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist RDN is a food and nutrition expert who has met strict educational and field experience requirements. The blanketed job description would entitle counseling individuals on food and nutrition however the work of a RD can vary based on the work setting: Clinical Dietitian, Research Dietitian, Community Dietitian and many more.
What can I expect from an initial session?
In an initial session we will go over current lifestyle, medical history, level of physical activity and eating habits. Education on proper nutrition will follow. Finally we will collaborate to make healthy adjustments to your eating patterns individualizing to fit your unique habits and conducive of specific goals.

What is the difference between a Dietitian an a NUTRITIONIST?
The term nutritionist can be used by anyone without proper education. Some may have a bachelors degree in nutrition, others may have earned a quick certificate online and some may just decide to be a nutritionist on a Thursday afternoon.
A Registered Dietitian Nutritionist is an individual:
-Who has completed a college/university educational program in dietetics and/or nutrition that is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) and the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND -Who has completed a Dietetic Internship of at least 1200 hours -Who has passed the CDR’s Registration Examination for Dietitians -Who maintains that licensure/certification through fulfilling continuing education requirements

Yes, many of our patients have issues with IBS, IBD, HTN, CVD, DM, Celiacs and much more.
Do you create meal plans?
The best meal plan is the one you can create on the spot daily. Hopefully the education obtained from the session is enough to start making healthier decisions however we will most certainly go over choices to make at all meals and snacks and if needed construct a 7 day meal plan of eating.
Do i need to track my food?
Complex answer that may differ from individual to individual therefore the session may dictate whether this is the best course of action
How often should I see a registered Dietitian?
Depending on your reason for visit this can vary. Typically we start with as often as once a week or every two weeks and may continue down this road for an extended period of time or spread sessions out a bit further.
How often should I see a personal trainer/workout?
Daily physical activity is recommend for all. The level of intensity, types of workouts and sessions with myself may vary on availability, goals and budget. Regardless if you see a trainer once or week or three times weekly, exercise should remain constant on days without the trainer if possible.
